MAA conference: how to succeed in global aerospace

The theme for the third annual MAA conference is how to compete in global aerospace. How are the strategies of the industry's larger companies evolving? What do small companies need to do to stay ahead -- or not get left behind? How can we work together in the Midlands and in local clusters -- like Wolverhampton?

At the heart of the conference, distinguished industry leaders -- from Airbus, GKN Aerospace, Rolls-Royce and UTC Aerospace Systems -- have agreed to share their ideas and advice on these subjects with the Midlands aerospace community.

Gold sponsors for the event are Moog, UTC Aerospace Systems (both with important local facilities) and Wolverhampton City Council.

Welcome to Wolverhampton!

GTG

The Wolverhampton Express & Star trumpeted the event in its pages as a major coup for the city and the Black Country, home of one of the Midlands’ major local aerospace clusters. It said the plans to stage the event in Wolverhampton recognised the importance of the city in terms of its aerospace industry, and underlined the strong bonds between the Midlands Aerospace Alliance and the city. Councillor Roger Lawrence, leader of Wolverhampton City Council, told the local Express & Star newspaper the MAA conference next March would benefit the whole area. “It is excellent news for the whole Black Country. As a sector expected to grow over the next couple of decades, aerospace has to be seen as one of the best bets."

The event on 26 March is being held at the brand new GTG Training Centre in Wolverhampton.
