How to successfully adopt new technologies

09:00 - 16:30, University of Leicester

09:00 - 16:30
The Lecture Theatre, David Wilson Library Building
University of Leicester

Whether a technology originates in industry or at a university, an industry/university partnership can reap great rewards for all parties. SMEs are becoming increasingly active in such collaborations, often working closely with end-customers throughout.

Learn how they have done that and what they would do differently next time.

This event is organised by the Midlands Aerospace Alliance, the University of Leicester and the Transport iNet.

The workshop will:

  • help you understand the key issues in creating a successful technology collaboration
  • provide several examples of successful collaborations
  • outline some innovative technologies ripe for commercial exploitation
  • help you understand the new UK funding regime and how to access it

Keynote speakers from:

  • Rolls-Royce
  • Astrium
  • Magna Parva
  • TTE Systems
  • Photek

In light of the recent government changes to technology funding in the UK, the Technology Strategy Board's Director of Communications and Strategy will give a keynote presentation on its strategy for innovation in the UK and highlight some of the funding mechanisms that are available to support the practical development and transfer of novel technologies.

Several highly innovative technologies will also be presented which may provide opportunities to companies for commercial exploitation.
