A free programme of interactive webinars
The Institute for Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Nottingham is delighted to announce that as part of the Aerospace UP project, we will be hosting a free programme of interactive webinars focussed on driving innovation in the workplace through the principles of Lean Six Sigma.
This webinar series is available exclusively to SMEs operating within the aerospace sector with a business/trading address within the Midlands at no cost to the business.
Led by a Lean Practitioner and Six Sigma Master Black Belt, the programme will consist of 8 x 2 hour interactive webinars to be delivered on Fridays from 10:00-12:00. The provisional programme of webinars is as follows:
1. 09/10/20 Cultural and organisational barriers to innovating for improvement
2. 23/10/20 Problem solving – inventing the wheel to stop reinventing the wheel!
3. 06/11/20 Value stream mapping – identifying waste in data and information handling – lean up transactional processes in your business
4. 20/11/20 Process mapping – can applications innovations help to streamline and automate transactional processes?
5. 04/12/20 Innovating to improve process capability – has somebody already solved your problem?
6. 22/01/21 Innovative ways to make people’s jobs easier (reduce mistakes, cut lead times and costs)
7. 05/02/21 PFMEA – rethinking this towards managing risk and focusing innovation activity
8. 19/02/21 In control & improving, not controlling – engaging staff to harness creativity, accelerating improvement rather than fighting for compliance
These free webinars have a maximum of 20 places and is strictly limited to one place per eligible business. The person attending each webinar on behalf of each business can be interchangeable throughout the programme.
How to register
To register a place your business on the webinar programme, please email AerospaceUP@nottingham.ac.uk. You will then be sent an SME enrolment form which must be completed and the eligibility criteria met, before being accepted onto the programme. Once accepted, joining instructions for each webinar will be distributed.

This event is part-funded via the European Regional Development Fund, therefore we are required to evidence if you are a small to medium enterprise. There will be an attendee registration form to be completed on the day of each webinar. The SME enrolment form is to capture any business support your business has received over the last 3 years to ensure you haven’t exceeded the €200,000 State Aid limit.
