Showcase 2015

See how the likes of Dassault, Airbus Helicopters and Romax work with the IAT to create technology and innovation for the aerospace sector and learn their thinking on the direction of technology within the sector and how you can work with the IAT.

In addition to highlighting and showcasing the thoughts and thinking of these major high tier and customer companies the IAT will explain how they can help you face the challenges within the industry and explain how you can bring their skills to your company. These skills have been brought to the industry in a number of ways from helping SMEs by European funding for small scale consultancy projects, bringing together with large scale collaboration (including SMEs) making a direct impact onto the industry or by providing access to their students.

Outline programme

This half-day event will detail the ways in which government and industry are investing in the research and development of aerospace technologies, and the skills required to exploit these innovations, at The University of Nottingham.

Senior representatives of key partners in some of the University’s projects will explain what it is like to work with Nottingham across a variety of technology themes, including:

  • Aero Engines and Propulsion
  • Aerospace Manufacturing
  • Aerospace Materials
  • Aerospace Operations
  • More Electric Aircraft

Attendees will learn how Nottingham is:

  • Working with UK aerospace through the ATI and Innovate UK
  • Working with European aerospace through Clean Sky 2 and Horizon 2020
  • Working with SMEs to improve their innovation capacity and skills base
  • Preparing the next generation of industry professionals through a new suite of undergraduate Aerospace Engineering courses
