Black Country breakfast club - aerospace special

Breakfast meeting for suppliers to the UK aerospace, defence and security sectors

06:45 - 09:00, Wolverhampton Business Solutions Centre, Technology Centre, Glaisher Drive, WV10 9RT

At this breakfast club event, organised by the four Black Country councils you’ll hear first-hand from the MAA and Aero Engine Controls about aerospace opportunities for West Midlands businesses.

With air travel set to double, and major growth in the industry predicted over the next ten years, the business potential for the current and prospective aerospace supply chain is huge. Speakers include:

  • Andrew Mair, CEO of MAA, on the latest financial support for the UK aerospace industry and speak frankly about challenges facing the UK supply chain.

  • Tim Holmes, MAA's manufacturing specialist, on the 21st Century Supply Chains (SC21) initiative, the industry led programme designed to boost the competitiveness of the UK aerospace and defence industries.

  • A senior supply chain specialist from Aero Engine Controls (speaker tbc) will tell you about future business opportunities and what they look for in suppliers.

  • Jay Patel, Business Development and Investment Manager at Wolverhampton City Council, on the Black Country Gold project. A soon-to-be-launched funding stream aimed at assisting around 120 Black Country-based SMEs.

After the presentations, Tim Holmes will offer one-to-one meetings with current and prospective suppliers, answering questions on SC21 or anything to do with aerospace supply.

Meanwhile all other delegates will have the chance to network with likeminded business owners, directors and senior managers.

Following the event there will be a factory tour to a Black Country-based tier-one aerospace supplier (name to be confirmed soon). At around 9:30am, a coach will transport interested delegates from the Wolverhampton Business Solutions Centre to the client's premises where they will receive a guided tour of the production facilities.

The event is free to attend for any Midlands suppliers and includes a hot breakfast and plenty of networking opportunities.
