A group of managers from ACAE, which is charged with developing China’s own gas turbine civil aerospace engines for large civil aircraft is visiting the Midlands Aerospace Alliance on 15 January 2015 to meet with MAA members.

The Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) established the AVIC Commercial Aircraft Engine (ACAE) Company in Shanghai in 2009. ACAE has collaborated with MTU on studies for a second engine to power the COMAC C919, for planned entry into service in 2020. ACAE has said that it is seeking local and foreign partners to supply parts for the country's large commercial jet engines.
