The Midlands hosts several world leading manufacturing research and innovation centres. The excellent facilities and staff offer SMEs in the region the opportunity to innovate and accelerate their growth. The MAA would like to invite Midlands SMEs to attend these introductory sessions held at the facilities to identify activities and funding opportunities to help you supercharge your business.
The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC https://www.the-mtc.org/ ) is here to help manufacturing businesses become more competitive through the application of new techniques, technologies and processes. The MTC works with businesses of all sizes, including hundreds of start-ups, early-stage and established businesses on a variety of topics, for example:
- Design for manufacture review
- Demonstrating digital technologies
- Reduce the cost of processes by applying new technologies
- Cycle time reduction
- Automation of manufacturing processes including robotics
- New product innovation
- Prototyping and testing
- Business transformation
- Net Zero / decarbonisation
- Skills / workforce development / apprenticeships

This activity is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund 2014-2020. This activity is classed as State Aid under De Minimis to participating businesses but is delivered completely free of charge.
