Free workshops available through the TransNetAero project
Free training is available for Midlands Aerospace Alliance members thanks to the MAA's participation in the European TransNetAero project (via funding from INTERREG IV B by ERDF). The aim of these professional development courses is to help companies competative positions.
Manufacturing organisation and technologies workshop
This course will be held at the Fraunhofer IPA institute in Stuttgart on 28 January 2015.
This workshop will help organisations identify methods of aligning their current business modesl to a transnational customer base. There are 2 workshop streams on offer which will be held simultaneously.
Stream 1: Manufacturing organisation

- Supply chain management
- Lean management
- Developing a roadmap "manufacturing organisation"
Stream 2: Technologies
- Lightweight construction nano modified metals
- Lightweight construction nano modified materials
- Lightweight construction with generative manufacturing processes
- Metal cutting machining operations for CFK and stacks
- Extraction technologies
- Registration of processing quality and damage mechanisms
- No-destructive test methods for fibre reinforced plastics
- Requirements for technical purity in the aerospace industry
- Developing a technology roadmap
