Derby-based Pentaxia was really excited when Major Tim Peake blasted off into space to join the International Space Station (ISS) for the next six months, because he took with him two products produced by the company.
Two augmented Raspberry Pi computers (called Astro Pis) have been flown to the ISS as part of British ESA Astronaut Peake’s mission. Pentaxia worked closely with the Raspberry Pi/Astro Pi team to machine special space-grade aluminium casings to house their unique ‘space’ version of the computer.
