MyWorkwear have announced that they will continue with their successful sponsorship of the University of Wolverhampton’s Racing Team (UWR) through the 2020 season. MyWorkwear will continue to support the team alongside other diverse local companies including solicitors FBC Manby Bowdler, Gotronic, Tungaloy UK, Bauromat and EfaFlex UK.
Their investment in the future of engineering and motorsport will help the students of today become the industry professionals of tomorrow, with UWR graduates now working for the likes of Mercedes F1, Williams F1, Bentley, Aston Martin and the Morgan Motor Company.
The 2020 season will commence on the 31st March with the unveiling of the UWR cars’ new livery, and the first race in the F3 Cup will be held at Donington Park on the 4th and 5th of April.
About the University of Wolverhampton Racing Team
University of Wolverhampton Racing is a team made up of students in various team roles under the guidance of experienced staff from the professional motorsport industry. While studying for their university degrees, students spend their evenings and weekends gaining valuable industry experience in professional motor racing, developing road cars via racing, or designing & building vehicles from scratch. The University of Wolverhampton’s School of Engineering is the only University to have a car competing in the F3 Cup competition – with the engineers of tomorrow building their skills and knowledge in the arena of professional motorsport.
“We are delighted to be working with MyWorkwear again as a sponsor of the UWR team. Having a quality uniform provided for them makes our students feel like a professional team, and gives them a boost in confidence for the season ahead. James and the MyWorkwear staff have been enthusiastic supporters of ours over the last 18 months, and we’re delighted that they’ll be cheering from the grandstands for another year” said Dr Syed Hasan, Head of the School of Engineering and UWR Chairman.
James Worthington, MyWorkwear Managing Director commented “We are very excited to continue our sponsorship of the UWR team and are looking forward to kitting out the new influx of students in their branded uniform. Together with other fellow sponsors we are proud to be supporting the future of engineering and manufacturing in the UK”.
