Join Dr Andrew Mair, chief executive of the Midlands Aerospace Alliance, on this mission to get inside the aerospace industry of the Wallonia region, Belgium, one of the MAA's five European partners in the TransNetAero project.

The aim of the 4th TransNetAero (TNA) event, in Belgium, is to connect aerospace suppliers across Europe:

  • Learn about what international aerospace customers really need
  • Promote your company internationally
  • Learn about how to overcome supplier challenges in the aerospace supply chain
  • Benchmark and learn from best practice case studies.

This event is set up for European aerospace suppliers of any size with an interest in:

  • latest supplier requirements from major aerospace customers
  • participation in a European networking event to promote their company
  • learning more about how research centres across Europe can help them adopt new product and process technologies and manage their own supply chains
  • understanding a program to enhance the skills of aerospace employees
  • meeting and networking with companies from around Europe

The TransNetAero event is held in Liège, in Wallonia, a central aerospace region in Belgium. The event is organised by CSL (Centre Spatial de Liège), with the support of SKYWIN.  The aerospace cluster 'Skywin Wallonia' is a group of companies, training centers and research units engaged in public and private partnership and building synergies around common and innovative projects. Skywin Wallonia represents some 6,400 jobs and €1 billion in revenue.

How to get there:

  • Train to Liège (Guillemins Station) : 1 hour from Bruxelles (Brussels) Airport or Charleroi (BrusselsSouth) Airport, by intercity train
  • Train, bus or taxi to CSL (Centre Spatial de Liège, Liege Science Park, Avenue Pré Aily Bât.29,4031 Angleur)

Participation in this event is free of charge, thanks to the support of the EU Interreg programme; participants will be responsible for their own travel to Liège and accommodation.

* What is TransNetAero?

TransNetAero (Transnational Network for Aerospace) is a network of organisations in six European aerospace regions and small countries which are going to work together and share their resources so that aerospace industry suppliers in each of them can get expert support and knowledge from the others to help them be better prepared to succeed against global scale competition. The participants are Wallonia (Belgium), Normandy (France), Baden-Württemberg (Germany), the Netherlands, Switzerland and the Midlands (United Kingdom). Future events will be held in the other regions during 2013-15, -- focusing on different major customers and technology centres. For more about the TransNetAero project, click here.
