An insight into international customer requirements with Rolls-Royce and the MAA

After the success of the previous workshop which produced notable comments such as "fantastic session, learnt a lot from Rolls Royce feedback", "excellent event the Dutch and UK industry interaction is a great way of forming alliances across Europe", "helped us learn to think like our clients" and "good event, more please". We would again like to invite you to join Dr Andrew Mair, chief executive of the Midlands Aerospace Alliance and Rolls-Royce for this unique opportunity to gain an insight into international customer requirements and how they impact may impact onto your business strategy.

This TransNetAero* workshop is to help the supply chain understand international customer requirements: 

  • Find out what international aerospace customers really need.

  • Promote your company internationally.

  • Learn what your customer needs to hear, not only what you would like to tell them.

  • Get feedback on how you present your company.

  • Benchmark and learn from your peers.

  • Learn to adapt your company's business strategy.  

This event is set up for European (including UK) SME suppliers to the aerospace industry with an interest in: 

  • Latest supplier requirements from major aerospace customers.

  • Participating in a European networking event to promote their company.

  • Learning to adapt your message to communicate more effectively with your customer.

  • Creating a plan to meet new requirements.

  • Benchmarking yourself against companies from the UK and Europe.

This TransNetAero event is held at the MAA offices in Coventry. The event is organised by the Midlands Aerospace Alliance.

Participation in this event is free of charge, thanks to the support of the EU Interreg IVB programme; participants will be responsible for their own travel to Coventry UK and accommodation.

Who will you meet?

This event held at the heart of the UK Midlands aerospace cluster where the MAA will introduce you to the Head of Supplier Collaboration for Component Engineering at Rolls-Royce and provide an insight into customer requirements from Rolls-Royce as well as those from across Europe.

Agenda

Morning

  • 09:00 Arrival and coffee.
  • Introduction to TransNetAero by Dr Andrew Mair MAA Chief Executive.
  • Presentation on Rolls-Royce's requirements and future direction by Paul Snelling, Head of Supplier Collaboration for Component Engineering, Rolls-Royce.
  • First half of attendee's presentations - 5 min max presentation from each attendee on why potential customers should do business with them.
  • Coffee break.
  • Second half of attendee's presentations - 5 min max presentation from each attendee on why potential customers should do business with them.
  • Lunch and networking.

Afternoon

  •  Feedback on presentation by Paul Snelling on how improve their offer and guidance on avenues to build awareness of their competencies.
  • Presentation on European customer requirements.
  • Round table discussion on how to adapt using this knowledge.
  • Strategy implementation model - Hoshin Kanri framework and how it can be used to implement the knowledge gained within the attendee's business.
  • 16:30  End of meeting.

* What is TransNetAero?

TransNetAero (Transnational Network for Aerospace) is a network of organisations in six European aerospace regions and small countries which are going to work together and share their resources so that aerospace industry suppliers in each of them can get expert support and knowledge from the others to help them be better prepared to succeed against global scale competition. The participants are Wallonia (Belgium), Normandy (France), Baden-Württemberg (Germany), the Netherlands, Switzerland and the Midlands (United Kingdom).
